Rimera Group's Almetievsk plant (oilfield service division of ChelPipe Group), one of the top producers of submersible equipment for oil production in Russia, was named the winner of the contest as it successfully completed the 2019 national program Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Improvement in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Alnas was awarded a prize in the Best Machine Building nomination by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin. The plant was assessed for energy-saving criteria based on its heat power and electricity consumption figures as well as the consumption of natural gas fuel.
Alnas carries out a range of energy-saving measures, which may be generally grouped as: raising efficiency of the production process and energy resource saving. One of the key energy-saving projects was the renovation of the lighting system on the main shopfloors of the plant, which helped bring down electricity costs dramatically. The plant also carried out a project to replace obsolete electrical equipment with more efficient systems, which meet today’s requirements.
"The winning of the Republican award means great recognition of the Alnas activity aimed at improving energy efficiency of its production, which is an important trend of the strategic development of Rimera Group. Sustainable use of energy resources helps optimize costs, reduce the cost of production of oilfield equipment and lessen the environmental burden. In 2019, we managed to significantly drive down energy use compared to planned consumption, particularly, heat energy, from 45K to 37K gigacalories. Alnas will continue its proactive efforts to boost energy efficiency according to the best resource use management practices," says Executive Director of Alnas.
In 2018, Alnas approved a long-term energy efficiency strategy, which includes integration into production of the latest energy-saving technologies.
