In what was a new attendance record, Izhneftemash was visited by two School no. 74 classes in one day. The visit to the manufacturing company was a practical component of the Economics of Udmurtia course taught to the senior students. Earlier practical studies included a visit to the Central State Archives of the Republic of Udmurtia.
Guided by Izhneftemash staff, the school students were taken around the Technical Center and the production shops. They were shown all the stages of the production process, from 3D modeling of the future oilfield equipment parts and components to the very last assembly operations, including the final tests of the first prototype of a new multipurpose mixing unit.
“It was a very interesting and enlightening tour. For the first time ever I saw a factory of that size and all the products it makes for the oilers. I really liked the workplaces of designers and production engineers built using the “open space” concept – a bit unusual but modern and comfortable,” shared her impressions Veronika Pushina, a 10th grade student of School no. 74.
Says Ludmila Martynova, School no. 74 teacher, “After visits to enterprises and organizations of our home town our students will be asked to present their personal career development projects in the area they prefer the best, whether social, industrial or agroindustrial. The fact is, most of them plan to go into industrial production. After getting to know Izhneftemash I believe they will be even more motivated to get either a tradesman or an engineer qualification.”
Let us note that career guidance work for school students is on-going at Rimera's Izhevsk company. In addition to the tours, which have become traditional for Izhneftemash, for two years straight the company has been among the organizers of the “My Professional Choice” contest for senior students from all city schools.
