The event, which marked six years of Rimera Group, saw the attendance of Opava Mayor Zdeněk Jirásek, Dolní Benešov Mayor Martin Štefek, Hlučín job center director Martin Velecký, Russia’s Deputy Trade Commissioner Vadim Bykov and Aleš Zedník, the honorary consul of Russia in Ostrava.
The mission surveyed the plant and visited a new workshop, noting the grand scale of the investment program.
The plant has modern manufacturing facilities that are capable of producing the most complex components in terms of size and technology while ensuring high surface quality. MSA also makes special pipe fittings for nuclear energy facilities. All of the company’s products are tested in its own laboratory.
“I would like to emphasize positive growth: our plant has been able to handle a much larger scope than in the previous years,” said MSA Chairman of the Board and Executive Director, Vladimir Kononov. “Most importantly, we have a clear understanding of tasks we are to do. We have every pre-requisite for meeting our target in the second quarter. As for our manufacturing performance amid the extensive renovation of the plant, we have managed to provide the required output, which is no doubt a success. The renovation process is going at a record pace. We planned to complete it before the end of 2013, and the work schedule shows we are on course.”
The steps MSA is taking to modernize and extend its production facilities will help create new jobs, bolster the region’s economy and improve industrial cooperation between Russia and the Czech Republic.
“I was at MSA a few years ago and I know the firm’s history and the challenges it faced,” said Aleš Zedník. “Now I can see the company investing into manufacture and modernizing the business as an innovative, high-tech plant. This speaks to the stability of MSA, which will continue to be one of the region’s largest employers.”
