The SOT manufacturing company has shipped a pilot batch of stamped pipe adapters for Transneft sites. The deliveries to the energy sector are possible thanks to Rimera’s successful certification to the oil company’s standards.
Rimera Expanding Its Product Range for Transneft Trunk Pipelines
The PSh 530х426 mm adapters (wall thickness: 14 mm, steel strength grade: K52), rated for a pressure of up to 11 MPa, were manufactured on the SOT site in Magnitogorsk. SOT engineers made a special set of manufacturing equipment for the job, as this was the first time the company had made adapters of the unit size in question. SOT is planning to ship 20 tons of pipe adapters to Transneft in the first half of 2013, and around 60 tons, by yearend.
In 2012, Rimera made a series of steps to design, and get approval for, new specifications for the O&G sector, which enabled it to ship its first OKSh pipe bends to Transneft as early as in the beginning of 2013. The 325-530 mm diameter bends will be used for trunk pipeline maintenance operations.
“SOT has delivered products manufactured on its Chelyabinsk site to Transneft for several years now,” says SOT Executive Director Leonid Malamud. ”We shipped almost 1,527 tons in January through April 2013. Deliveries to Transneft increased more than threefold on last year. As we get the Magnitogorsk division’s entire product mix certified in the future, our company will be prepared to offer the full range of high-quality bends to the oil and gas industry.”
