Rimera Expanding Partnership with Rosneft

The SOT manufacturing company and Rosneft have agreed specifications for the complete range of heavy-duty pipe bends that will be delivered to the Russian oil company. The resulting engineering documentation will allow the Rimera-controlled SOT to make products for Rosneft’s future projects.

The new specifications cover the whole range of products made at the SOT sites in Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk, such as T-bends, parts with rings, rings, short-radius bends and ends between 50 and 1220 millimeters in diameter. All the products are rated for 32 MPa and thermally treated for special resistance to corrosion and cold.
In the course of the preparatory phase, SOT engineers designed and tested a special bending and thermal treatment system. Samples successfully passed tests at the company’s engineering center in Samara, Russia.
Headquartered in Chelyabinsk, SOT has been in a partnership with Rosneft since 2009. Hot bends have accounted for most of SOT’s shipments to Rosneft. The new approval documents will help both expand the range of products delivered, and provide the users with products that have enhanced quality and are intended for use in oilfields with adverse weather conditions.
“The company’s products are used for Rosneft’s largest projects: the Vankor Field, Phase I and Phase II of the Tikhoretsk-Tuapse Pipeline, and in virtually all oilfields operated by Rosneft affiliates, such as RN-Yuganskneftegaz, Vankorneft, Samaraneftegaz, Udmurtneft,” says Rimera CEO Olga Naumova. “Rimera Group’s sales of products and services to Rosneft increased by seven percent in 2012. All of this speaks to the integrate nature of our approach to the largest customer in the domestic oil market.”
