The gas furnace, installed in the large-diameter bends production floor, is one of the key components of the broaching press line. It is used to reheat billets needed to produce 273-426 mm bends. During the upgrade the existing brickwork furnace lining will be replaced with refractory fiber material. The upgrade will not only greatly reduce the consumption of gas, but also help to achieve a five times longer furnace turnaround cycle. The modernization project will be completed in November.
«The reconstruction of the reheating furnace is one of the last steps in the modernization of our Magnitogorsk facility this year,» says Leonid Malamud, SOT Executive Director. «Our 2013 upgrade plans are fully completed, now that we have new cutting, machining and marking equipment installed. Modern production equipment will allow us to take part in new ambitious projects announced by leading oil and gas, atomic energy and utility companies.»
The modernization of production facilities controlled by Rimera Group is one of the priority focus areas for ChelPIpe's oilfield service division.
