The main purpose of the conference, held on one of Rimera’s manufacturing sites, the Izhneftemash plant, was a detailed review of both completed and upcoming projects aimed at increasing energy efficiency and energy savings. The conference brought together designers and power engineers from Alnas, Izhneftemash, SOT, NCTB, Yuganskneftegazgeofizika and Rimera-Service.
The companies of the group are currently promoting a number of energy saving activities which include:
• automation of existing lighting systems and use of energy-saving lighting systems;
• employment of advanced energy-efficient equipment under production modernization programs;
• elimination of load on energy-intensive equipment during maximum capacity hours;
• application of heat-saving technology and materials when renovating rooms.
Besides investing in advanced equipment that provides reductions in resources costs, the company is making efforts to increase awareness of energy saving among employees and instill frugal resource-using habits.
The Rimera Group spent a total of nearly RUB 500 million on resources in 2012. In the meantime, energy-saving measures helped cut fuel and power expenditures by more than RUB 70 million at Alnas alone.
“The implementation of an energy efficiency program is currently an extremely hot issue for Russia as a whole. The use of new technology, optimization of equipment according to operating modes, incentives for energy saving are the measures that will help the Group make up for the negative effects of growing utility rates, which are pushing costs in this area up by more than 10 percent annually,” Rimera Group General Director Olga Naumova said at the conference.
