Rimera’s Chelyabinsk Company Successfully Certified to Gazprom Standards
The evaluation by the Russian Register Certification Association took two days to complete. The audit team praised the standard of the production, management and support processes at SOT. Compliance with the rules of certificate and conformity mark use was verified as well.
SOT has successfully passed certification for the STO Gazprom 9001-2001 standard since 2010. The manufacturer ships pipe bends for Gazprom’s pipeline construction and maintenance needs on a yearly basis. Last year, SOT was a supplier of pipe bends to the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta project and pipe spools for compressor stations. Shipments in 2012 exceeded 6,500 tons.
Certification to Gazprom and Transneft standards is a prerequisite for bidding on contracts to deliver pipes and trunk pipeline equipment for Russia’s largest pipeline projects. Rimera is taking steps to secure its participation in the South Stream project and certification of SOT’s other manufacturing site, located in Magnitogorsk and formerly specialized in products for housing maintenance, to Gazprom standards. MSA, a Czech manufacturer of pipe valves, is another Rimera-controlled company that ships its products to Gazprom and Transneft projects.
