The T-bends, weighing a total of 25 tons, will be made in three standard sizes: TS 1020x325mm, TS 1020x426mm and TS 1020x530mm using K42, K56 and K60 strength class pipe stock. The products are rated for a pressure of up to 9.8 MPa. The post-heat treatment welding technology used at SOT allows for joining two types of pipe stock having a strength class difference of up to 18 units when manufacturing T-bends.
The products intended for Gazprom will be made inside the SOT T-bends shop opened last year. The shop has an all-purpose shape cutting machine and a neck flanging center. The project is part of a wider Rimera Group program geared toward expanding the product range with an eye on meeting the requirements of key customers.
Gazprom is traditionally a strategic user of SOT products, primarily hot and cold bends. SOT shipped 1,126 tons of its products to Gazprom in January through May 2013.
