The pipe spools are intended for the Shakhtinskaya and Korenovskaya compressor stations (an expansion of the Unified Gas Supply System designed to deliver gas to the South Stream gas pipeline) and the Petrovsk and Balashov compressor stations (a retrofit of the Urengoy - Novopskov gas pipeline section between Petrovsk and Pisarevka to be completed before gas shipments via the South Stream will begin).
Products for transmission pipelines 325 to 1,420 mm in diameter and pipe walls 12 to 32 mm in thickness will be manufactured from pipeline fittings made of steel grades K48 to K60. The pipe spools will have the Pk-60 anti-corrosion coating. The structures will be assembled from bends made using a horn-shaped mandrel manufactured at the Magnitogorsk site of Pipe Bends Plant (SOT). External acceptance of the order will be performed by the inspection company Business Trend LLC.
"Pipe spools for compressor stations are one of the primary types of Rimera transmission pipeline equipment supplied to Gazprom. In 2013, the Group shipped over 100 pipe spools for Gazprom's compressor stations. In the first quarter of this year, we already delivered a shipment of pipe spools for the new compressor stations, Ekaterinovka and Pisarevka, which are also being built as part of the South Stream project. The volume of pipe spool shipments for Gazprom that has been contracted for 2014 is 1,000 units so far,” says Rimera Group Commercial Director Konstantin Samsonov.
Other ChelPipe Group companies also cooperate with Gazprom. MSA, Rimera's Czech asset, delivered more than 500 ball valves for Pungino Underground Gas Storage Facility in the first quarter of 2014. Contracts worth EUR 10 million have been signed with Gazprom for this year. Chelyabinsk Pipe Mill is also supplying products for major Gazprom projects. The Chelyabinsk metallurgists plan to supply over 30,000 tonnes of large-diameter pipes manufactured by the Vysota 239 shop in July-August 2014 for the Power of Siberia gas pipeline project alone. ChelPipe Group won a tender for this volume of large-diameter pipes in June 2013. The company also intends to submit bids for this year's new Gazprom tenders to select suppliers of tubulars and connecting pipeline bends for the Power of Siberia project.
