The two parts of the Forpol-Oil polyurea urethane system (St. Petersburg) are: a Forpol-Primer primer and a two-component Forpol-Oil sealing compound. The material's key advantages are high adhesion to steel and fast drying, not requiring to heat up the ambient. The manufacturer guarantees the insulated items to remain free of corrosion for a standard depreciation period of a pipeline. Forpol-Oil has been put on the materials list by Gazprom and Transneft. For its pipe bends SOT plans to use coating of the types Pk-40, М-Pk-40, Pk-60, М-Pk-60 (the figure indicates fluid temperature).
“Until recently the Japanese-made Frucs Pk-60 and the German-made Pk-40 were all we could use for anticorrosive treatment of our products. In 2011 we secured a permit for the use of Protegol UR-Coating 32-60 (Pk-80, М-Pk-80) for pipelines with fluid temperatures up to 80˚, for both standard and frost-proof types,” says Leonid Malamud, SOT Executive Director. “The arrival of the new Russian anticorrosive innnovations will enable us to offer our fuel and energy market clientele a maximized lineup of products of different specifications, fit for use in any climate zone.”
SOT offers anticorrosive treatment of pipe bends since 2006. With the current production capacity, around 30,000 to 40,000 m² of anticorrosive coatings are applied every year.
