MSA plant has delivered its valves to the Slovak company Eustream, a leading gas transport company in Slovakia. The entire shipment will be used in building the gas pipeline between Slovakia and Hungary. The Slovak leg of the pipeline will be completed in the near future.
The delivery includes 20-inch Class 600 ball valves. All valves are fitted with pneumatic drives manufactured by Niwatec, a partner of MSA.
"We have been cooperating with Eustream for over 20 years. This year MSA has delivered more than EUR 1.3 mln worth of valves to this company, which is our number-one customer in Slovakia. I am certain that our partnership with this East European company will evolve well into the future", says MSA Management Board Chairman Vladimir Kononov.
The gas pipeline connecting the high-pressure transport systems between Velke Zlievce in Slovakia and Vecses in Hungary is one of the largest energy transport routes in Central Europe. Investments in this project exceed EUR 160 mln. The gas pipeline with a throughput of 5 bln m3 a year is expected to enter service on January 1, 2015. Once commissioned, the gas pipeline will give a boost to the energy security and independence of the Central and East European regions. In the future, this new gas pipeline will become a part of a system that will be pumping natural gas between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black seas.
