215 RP-450 reducers were ordered by Ozenmunaigaz, subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s KazMunaiGas company. The new contract followed after the Izhevsk plant successfully completed a similar contract for Ozenmunaigaz in 2012.
The equipment shipped to Ozenmunaigaz improves on the standard RP-450 design by adding catcher grooves in the reducer plug, which provide extra protection against oil leaks from the housing, and a magnetic metal trap for removing shavings from the reducer oil bath, thus helping decrease cog and bearing wear. Earlier in 2013 reducers with similar design features were supplied to Izhneftemash's other Kazakhstan client, Mangistaumunaigaz.
At present Kazakhstan is Izhneftemash's key foreign trade partner. In 2012 80% of Rimera Izhevsk factory's exports were shipped to Kazakhstan. This year, considering the Ozenmunaigaz contract and other current agreements with Kazakhstan's oil producing industry players, Rimera will ship to Kazakhstan 2.8 times more Izhneftemash reducers from 2012.
Kazakhstan is also the key market for Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk SOT plants. SOT's Magnitogorsk branch reports a notable growth of production volumes. Kazakhstan shipments account for 25% of the branch's sales budget. A large contract has been signed for packaged supply of SOT (Magnitogorsk) pipe bends and ChelPipe pipes for Pavlodar Boiler Plant under Karaganda CHP reconstruction project. This year the Chelyabinsk plant will supply Kaztransgaz and Kaztransoil trunk pipeline reconstruction projects in the same quantities as in previous years.
