The commissioning ceremony will take place on Mechanical Engineer's Day, celebrated at the end of September.
The startup operations prior to the launch of the new casting plant are nearing completion. The statistical runs and the mold core process development operations were carried out successfully. The acceptance procedures have demonstrated the nominal core production cycle performance of the new automated equipment. The first movable parts based on Laempe-made cores have already become the starting point for development prototype pumps. Now the factory aims to expand its range of cores.
Once the casting shop upgrade is complete, the German-made equipment will replace more than twenty existing hot-box automatic core making machines. The Laempe casting line will use the cold box amine technology, which reduces footprint, power consumption and the labor intensity of core making operations, lowering production costs. It has greater production capacity, too.
«By launching the new Laempe casting plant we shall greatly increase our production capacity and reduce product costs. One core making cycle currently takes between five and ten minutes, whereas Laempe reduces that to just 40-50 seconds. Our plant upgrade program, carried out without stopping the production, shall take us to a whole new level, making us approach the 9,500 ESPs per year capacity,» says Sergey Sachenko, Alnas Executive Director.
The factory expects the second parcel of the German-made Laempe casting machines to arrive soon.
