Magnitogorsk-based SOT factory is getting ready to receive a new multipurpose hydraulic press unit.
Rimera To Install a New Hydraulic Press at Magnitogorsk Factory
The Russian-made DE2434 hydraulic press will be installed at small diameter bends production floor and used to correct the geometry of hot drawn stamped bends. The new 250 tonne capacity unit will replace two obsolete and less powerful presses — a crank-driven one and a hydraulic one. The press stands out for compact design and flexibility (allows setting three standard bend sizes coming from the broaching press К03.031 #1 line).
"One of the reasons we want to replace the old equipment is the lack of spare parts," says Leonid Malamud, SOT executive director. "This year we had the products of our Magnitogorsk branch certified by oil and gas companies. Considering extra order volumes, we cannot allow extended production downtime due to running maintenance and overhauls."
Currently the production floor is refitted to accommodate the new press — contractors build a foundation needed to support the unit. The launch is scheduled for the first decade of August, 2013. As we recall, earlier Rimera contributed to its Magnitogorsk plant modernization program by installing a unit-type machine and a bandsaw machine. A multi-purpose ink jet marker HANDJET EBS 250 was yet another new purchase for the production floor needs.
