Tender procedures completed in the middle of March, Rimera Group's MSA based in Dolní Benešov of Czechia has won a contract to furnish hardware to one of the assets owned by the German Wingas, the leading gas industry player of Germany and Europe.
“According to the contract, this August the German gas giant will receive 16“ – 24“, class 1500 ball vales worth a total of EUR 210,000. The valves will be equipped with pneumatic drives supplied by our partner BIFFI,” said Vladimir Kononov, MSA Chairman of the Board, in comments of the deal.
All the valves scheduled for shipment in August will be used for a gas holder capacity increase project in the German town of Jemgum (Lower Saxony).
Previously the group's Czech-based plant had already supplied pipeline valves for the same project carried out by Wingas. Back in 2012, when the underground gas storage facility was being constructed, MSA contributed 85 ball valves worth more than EUR 3.5m.
Jemgum underground gas storage facility was commissioned on September 12, 2013. According to the project schedule, by 2018 the storage facility will have a capacity of 1bn m3 of active gas. The said amount is enough to cover the needs of over 500,000 households for one year. Due to its geographical location and unique characteristics, the gas storage facility is of special value for the euro-zone's energy infrastructure.
