At the end of the first quarter, Alnas had set a six-year record in sales of new products. Sales of the Almetyevsk-based pump maker's new equipment accounted for 20 percent of its mass-produced equipment models. Among these are floating-configuration pump systems and the 06-15 compression unit. Besides some unique design choices, the new pumps use impeller movable parts made of Ni-Resist heavy-duty cast iron, which has improved head and rate performance, and efficiency.
According to the designers, the most promising R&D projects for the second quarter are equipment for dual completion and a fluid power drive to be operated inside low-output wells. Key users of Alnas-made equipment currently are leading Russian and international oil companies, such as Rosneft, Gazprom Neft, LUKOIL, Tomskneft and Belorusneft.
“Development of complicated wells and bituminous oilfields has led to more stringent requirements to oil extraction equipment, which Rimera complies with when designing the new line of high-tech pumps,” comments Konstantin Samsonov, head of oil-production equipment sales at Rimera Group. According to Samsonov, Izhenftemash, the other of the Group’s two petroleum engineering companies, is planning to add new designs to its special-purpose equipment range. Some of these are a new cementing station, a blending and cement surge tank system, and the KPT-2M upgraded pipe tongs.
