Tyumen Repair and Engineering Works, which specializes in metalworking and steel structures, has requested hot-formed bends made out of 325 mm diameter 10 mm thick steel pipe (09G2S steel). The consignment comprises 16 pipe bends with 77˚ and 157˚ bend angles.

“For us this is the first ever time we make components for steel construction, as traditionally our pipe bends are consumed by the oil and gas sector,” says Leonid Malamud, SOT Executive Director. “The order is also special for the bend angle of 157˚, which is the greatest in our prior experience.”

Unlike SOT, ChelPipe Group's pipe-making division does have experience as a supplier of steel construction components. Pipes produced by Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant and Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant have been used to build the Kazan-Arena (previously Rubin-Arena) stadium, the Spartak stadium in Moscow, as well as some of the Olympic venues and facilities (steel roof frames of a covered skating arena in Sochi and a railway station in Adler).
