Mr. Engel Fattakhov, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Mr. Vitaly Sadykov, Rimera Group General Director, signed an agreement for cooperation in the field of vocational education in 2014-2015.
The agreement has followed after ChelPipe and the Republic of Tatarstan have joined their efforts to set up the College of the Future Tatarstan. In February 2013 in Kazan the Republic of Tatarstan and ChelPipe, which incorporates Rimera Group as one of its divisions, signed a framework agreement to work together towards the implementation of the project of the College of the Future Tatarstan.
As of today, the first construction phase has been completed, namely the renovation of classrooms and computer classes. A dual education system program has been launched, focused on hands-on training. 102 first and second-year Almetyevsk Professional College students are now taking classes at the College of the Future hosted by Alnas. The plant pays personal scholarships to the best students.
The document signed today lays out the activities and sources of funding for 2014-2015. During the two-year-long phase it is planned to set up an information and training center for the development of professional education in the Republic of Tatarstan, with a branch in Almetyevsk, and an Alnas-based resource center created jointly with Almetyevsk Professional College. To have this done, the College of the Future Tatarstan will need more classrooms, which will be taken from the laboratory complex and the testing floor, new education programs, a grant-based system to support the best teachers and vocational training instructors, an advanced training program, professional skill competitions and much more.
Rimera Group and the Governments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan have allocated a total of around RUR 200 million towards these plans for 2014-2015.
«The College of the Future Tatarstan is a prime example of cooperation between the business and the state in the field of vocational education,» said Vitaly Sadykov, Rimera Group General Director. «I am sure that our joint action with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan will help to solve the labor shortage problem in the near term. The White Metallurgy College, ChelPipe's similar project in Pervouralsk, which started two years ahead of the Almetyevsk one, already pays off. There are some first results in Almetyevsk, too. This year Almetyevsk Professional College received 3.5 times more student applications from the year earlier.»
The social and educational project titled the College of the Future Tatarstan has been in the making since 2012. Supported by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the project resides in Almetyevsk, hosted by Alnas of Rimera Group, ChelPipe's oilfield service division. The project aims to attract and retain high qualification staff for the benefit of the Republic's mechanical engineering companies, and to strengthen the prestige of the blue-collar jobs.
